Meet Dr. Scott Oden

Doctor of Chiropractic

Hello, my name is Dr. Oden(Scott). I grew up in a small town in Alabama just north of Birmingham. Before I found chiropractic, I received my Bachelor of science degree in Criminal Justice from Faulkner University Alabama. When I graduated from the Birmingham Police Academy, I worked as a patrol unit for the department. I was first introduced to chiropractic when I experienced back pain while working as an officer. My experience with my local chiropractor taught me that chiropractic wasn’t just about pain but nervous system health. My chiropractor then encouraged me to pursue a career as a chiropractor and dive deeper into pediatrics specifically. From that moment, I made the decision that would change my life forever. I decided to attend Life University where I graduated with my Doctorate in Chiropractic, so that I could impact other’s lives in the same way mine was impacted.

Introduction to Pediatric Care and Personal Interests

While attending chiropractic school, I immersed myself and regularly trained within several pediatric chiropractic clubs as well as the sports chiropractic club. While I was a part of numerous pediatrics clubs, when I found one that was neurologically focused, something just clicked. The stories I heard from so many families and the struggles they faced before neurologically focused chiropractic care, brought me back to my very own story. I was given the “diagnosis” of ADHD at a young age and was told by doctors that I “had to be put on medication” because that was my only option. Knowing now that chiropractic could have helped prevent me from “having” to be on medication, made me look at chiropractic through a new lens. 

I held these stories, these kids, and their challenges close to my heart and they have since fueled me to help kids who are just like me. I want to help these kids to tap into their super powers through fully functioning and optimized nervous systems and not be trapped into doing something that makes them express less of who they actually are.
